I use to use coconut oil all the time for cooking, but once the last jar I bought ran out I completely forgot about it. Last week I rediscovered it again while working on set for the television show The Revolution. After finishing Dr. Jen’s makeup she grab a jar of coconut oil and spread the oil on her legs for moisture. Immediately after the taping of the show I walked into Wholefoods Market to purchase a jar of coconut oil and have been using it for about 4 days now and have completely gone coo coo for it all over again.
My skin has never felt softer. There are also numerous other benefits coconut oil has on the skin like it delays wrinkles, and sagging of skin which normally become prominent with age. Coconut oil also helps in treating various skin problems including psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin infections. Unless you are allergic to coconut oil in someway then I would stay away, but if you aren’t by all means run out immediately and buy yourself a jar. Try it out and see if you like it. If you find you don’t like it for your skin you can also use it for your hair or for cooking click here for some free coconut oil recipes.

I love Coconut Oil. My brother claims that it was his secret weapon to losing weight. I tried to stomach the 1 tbl of oil 2X a day. But I hated the taste of coconut oil. I love using coconut in my hair. I use it to seal in the moisture.
You have the best skin Kenetia. I’m so happy you’re sharing your secrets with us. Keep them coming.
Hi Kenetia! Love this post. I have been using coconut oil as my nighttime moisturizer and it’s the best. I bought the Organic spectrum brand and I love it. I’m having a baby soon and plan to make a homemade cream for the baby with coconut oil.
Great idea!

Congratulations…Lucky mommie and baby this homemade cream with coconut oil sounds divine. Please share your recipe once you find out how well it works.
I absolutely love coconut oil. It is my go to for everything. If I could swim in it I would. It is so healing and the smell…. I loved your post. Made me smile. And I am off to whole foods this weekend.
And yes, I am looking forward to the recipe as well!
It is certainly amazing that something you can use in the kitchen can also be used as a moisturizer.
I have also read that adding coconut oil to your diet can help promote weight loss (among other benefits). In addition, it is also supposed to help combat gum disease too!
I will definitely have to try it out. Lately my skin has been dry in some areas and feeling parched due to working out. Maybe coconut oil will help my weary skin!
